Bank Holiday Monday

I think I'm finally ready to set off next Sunday: I-Pod filled, Nintendo charged up, new camera cards for 2000 images, pencils & sketch book, paperwork and airline tickets. I meet my 15 travelling companions at Heathrow.

I've checked that most of the hotels have internet connections but can't promise anything outside the big cities so I'm posting this in hope that I can pick it up in about a week's time. Here's how it goes:

6th in Beijing; 9th in Xi'an; 11th Dunhuang (inner Mongolia); 12th in Lanzhou; 13th Kaili (Guizhou province); 17th Shanghai; 19th Suzhou; 24th homeward bound.

I'm taking needles, a bit of calico (where would I be without it!), beads, mica, metallic kid and of course an assortment of threads. I aim to add substantial stitchery to my denim jacket whilst on the road. I'm working on a Miao thread booklet to fill on the journey - see photo showing minimal progress! If you've any ideas for other items to use & trade let me know before Friday.
